A roundtable on migration was held in Accra, at Mensvic Hotel to establish a platform to effectively coordinate the activities and projects on migration and trafficking in Ghana. It was to bring together key stakeholders at various levels as –International partners (as the EU, IOM, European Embassies, etc), Security services (as Police, Prisons and Immigration office), Duty bearers (as Local authorities, traditional leaders, Ministries), and Civil society and the media. The event took place on the 20th of September 2017 with all stakeholders sufficiently represented. Among the participants were 3 Local authorities (from the most affected areas of the country – main source irregular migrants), 2 traditional leaders (a Queen mother and a Chief), EU delegation, Italian Embassy (including Italian Ambassador to Ghana) German Embassy, IOM, Security services (CID, Prisons, GIS), media (Chris 88.9 FM Berekum, AGI, and GBC) as well as NGOs and Civil socjety.
